The design of the E 15 is two-toned; with a faux brushed metal finish on the outer casing and a grey color palette on the interior. The Full HD screen is standard at the $500 range, but is not a 1080p, so those seeking a laptop for watching movies or gaming would not be satisfied with this option. This display does have a wider viewing angle than laptops in the same price and performance range.

The E 15 is very similar to the Toshiba C55-C, except that it costs around $50.00 more. The E 15’s 4GB of RAM and 500GB 5400 RPM drive is half that of the Toshiba C55-C, which offers 8GB of RAM and 1 Terabyte of 5400 RPM drive.

The trackpad is somewhat finicky — not just when you click the physical mouse-style buttons, but the trackpad itself makes sounds when the user taps to click.

If you are someone who likes to browse the internet or work on the computer while listening to music, the E 15’s speakers are located at on the bottom of the laptop, towards the front corners. This means that anywhere you place the E 15 will muffle and distort the audio, which is not too hot in this laptop anyways.

Despite some of the less than perfect performance aspects, the Acer Aspire E 15 is still a strong machine and compared to other laptops in the same price range and similar performance range, it is better than at least 80% of others. With a solid construction and respectable speeds, this economy laptop is a bit overpriced for the consumer who would be best suited towards this model: casual daily usage and browsing.

Overall, I would give this laptop a 3.5 out of 5 stars. It is not a bad laptop; however, there are cheaper laptops available with slightly better specifications and performance out there.
